Assemblage (wild madder plant and natural pigment on paper), 23 x 23 cm – 9 x 9 inches, each (x2)
I collected the found objects that compose this body of work during my daily hikes in the forest. Then I chose and isolated some of the pieces I find more interesting. I usually show one natural element alone and unaltered, and in a second stage I add my intervention, which consists of extracting and using the pigment of the natural element to create my marks. This artwork is composed of two frames (9 x 9 inches, each). In the first one, a wild madder plant is mounted on paper. In the second frame, I used the color extracted from the plant ripe fruits to draw the lines with my fingers. Plant found at Tuscolo area (central Italy), in November 2017.
