A samara is a winged achene, a type of dry fruit in which a flattened wing of papery tissue enables the wind to carry the seed farther away from the tree than regular seeds would go. This piece is the result of various hikes and walks on which the seeds were collected. It shows both the intrinsic beauty of this material and the human gesture of throwing the elements on the canvas: each seed is fixed in the exact spot in where it lied after being thrown casually on the canvas.
