Eucalyptus
2018
Assemblage (wood and organic pigment on canvas), 40 x 30 cm – 15.7 x 11.8 inches
Additional information:
I collected the found objects that comprise this body of work during my daily hikes in the forest. Then I chose and isolated some of the pieces I find more interesting. I usually show one natural element alone and unaltered, and in a second stage I add my intervention, which consists of extracting and using the pigment of the natural element to create my marks. In this artwork, a eucalyptus branch is mounted on two canvas boards (7.8 x 11.8 inches each) that are held together by the branch. The lines are drawn with my fingers on canvas using the pigment obtained from the branch. The branch was collected in a eucalyptus forest in Aranova, (Rome), Italy, in December 2017.
