Pinus Pinea
2018
Assemblage (wood, organic pigment on paper) 23 x 23 cm – 9 x 9 inches, each
Additional information:
I collected the found objects that compose this body of work during my daily hikes in the forest. Then I chose and isolated some of the pieces I find more interesting. I usually show one natural element alone and unaltered, and in a second stage I add my intervention, which consists of extracting and using the pigment of the natural element to create my marks. This artwork is composed of two frames (9 x 9 inches, each). In the first one, a pine tree branch is mounted on paper. In the second frame, the pigment from the branch, extracted by hand in my studio, is used to form a square shape, with undefined borders. The branch was found at: Tuscolo area, central Italy, February 2018.
